Overcome Female Infertility - What is Endometrial Biopsy?


  
As mentioned in previous articles, infertility is defined as the inability of a couple to conceive after 12 months of unprotected sexual intercourse or can not carry the pregnancy to term. It affects more than 5 million couples in the United States alone, and many more times in the world. Because of unawareness of treatments, only 10% seeks help from professional specialist. In this article, we will discuss what is the endometrial biopsy female infertility?

I. Definition  By removing a portion of the tissue of the uterine lining women to ensure adhesion and endometrial implants or to see if the uterine lining builds embryo implantation.


II. Procedure   Tare a few ways to do this test, but here are the most common. 1. The sample is taken at the doctor's office using a mild form cannula device to remove a small sample of the lining of the uterus.2. Sometimes dilation and curettage (D & C) is necessary if it is discovered that women have heavy bleeding. The sample is taken by a sharp tool called a curette. Your doctor will take a small sample and collect a syringe or suction.


III. Diagnosis  The sample will be tested to see if the adhesion of endometrial implants and or uterine lining supports implantation of the embryo, the liner changes in the uterus during the menstrual cycle in women. Early in the menstrual cycle, the thick coating grows to a mature egg is released from the ovary and soften for the implantation of the egg if the egg is fertilized. If the egg is not fertilized, the lining is shed during menstruation.


IV. Risk  1. The small amount of bleeding2. The pain and cramps3. dizzy or light4. Infection5. In rare cases, perforation of the uterus and bleeding.
