A Comparison of the Cost of IVF Across the World

Find a list of the costs of IVF worldwide to make informed decisions on where to get effective treatment cost is very difficult - I know I've tried and failed!
So I decided to do some research for you.
  This article focuses on three areas:
1. Expenses incurred for an IVF cycle;
2. A comparison of the base cost of IVF treatment in the world;
3. An estimate of the total cost of IVF base to get pregnant by age and the country on the average success rate base.
The first thing to understand is how the total cost of an IVF cycle is.
The cost of an IVF cycle
              During any particular cycle costs include:
* Initial Consultation (can be from 6% to 10% of the cost of a basic IVF treatment).
* Basic IVF (varies by country, as shown in Table 1) usually includes doctors fees for egg collection and transfer of fresh embryos embryologist for fertilization of introduction, anesthetics, ultrasound scans, theater charges .
* Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (can be 28% to 40% of the base cost of IVF treatment) the creation of embryos by direct injection of increasingly common sperm into the egg, the procedure for male infertility but standard IVF.
* Hormonal drugs (may be 20% to 80% of the base cost of IVF treatment) the exact cost will depend on what drugs are prescribed to stimulate the ovaries. A Times investigation, Body & Soul was also a wide variation in prices charged by pharmaceutical prices.
* Embryo freezing Sometimes included in the base cost of IVF. Other clinics may charge up to 20% of the base cost IVF treatment, over 10% of the cost of basic IVF per year for storage and between 20% and 100% of the base cost for treatment IVF after thawing and transfer.
* Other research on immune therapies: can be up to 50% of the base cost of IVF treatment. Preimplantation genetic screening to select the best embryos: can be from 55% to 120% of the base cost of IVF treatment. Both procedures are offered by some clinics, although there is little published evidence that they are effective.
* The cost of regularity (in most countries) may be 4% to 5% of the base cost of IVF treatment. Charged separately by some clinics and rolled into the overall cost of others.
          This information on the cost of IVF was, according to the Times, January 10, 2008 - to give an indication of how they affect the total cost of IVF figures worldwide, which were originally for clinics in the UK, percentages have become basic IVF treatment costs, and it is assumed that the percentages will be similar worldwide. Note that if, for example, the purchase of their hormonal drugs in a country where you have your IVF treatment, the percentage will not be an accurate reflection of the costs.
The significant additional cost on top of the base cost of IVF treatment that everyone should have is hormonal drugs. The amount required depends hormonal drugs:
* Age;
* The length of infertility, and
* The physical condition of your uterus and endometrium (lining of the uterus)
Understanding what causes IVF cost is important and can be very confusing. The main thing to remember in the step of comparing clinics in the price level is to check what is included and what is excluded.
Considering making the cost of IVF, we can now look at the IVF treatment cost base worldwide.
A comparison of the costs of IVF basic salary worldwide
   It was very difficult to find the comparative cost of IVF global figures. After much research, I realized that there was no cure.
     As a starting point, I took a few digits of Human Reproduction Update article, Vol.8 3, 2002, an international survey on the health of the economy of IVF and ICSI by John A. Collins. The article had determined the cost of in vitro fertilization for 26 countries for 2002. Taking an average inflation rate of health spending from 3.5% used their figures to project these IVF costs forward and give estimates for 2008 and 2009, all costs were then converted into dollars.
   Then I searched the internet and did some personal issues to find the real costs of IVF now - August 2008. Could not find the costs for the 26 countries of the original list of John (Although I'm still trying!) A. Collins, however, I found the costs for countries that were not on the list. So in total had cost estimates for the basic IVF treatment for 46 countries.
   Although I still have a lot of research to do to find enough encryption to give a good overview of each country, my initial research indicates that the ten cheapest countries I've found are given for:
* India;
* Korea;
* Hungary;
* China;
* Czech Republic;
* Latvia;
* Qatar;
* South Africa;
* Thailand
* Turkey.
The most expensive five appear to be:
* USA .;
* Hong Kong;
* Dominican Republic;
* Sweden
* United Kingdom.
   Again, it should be emphasized that this is a difficult comparison to make because some costs include medications and other non - these medicines may represent an additional 20% - 80% of the base cost of IVF treatment.
   Although currently there are still many gaps I intend to continue this research to provide more detailed information on the cost of IVF and IVF success within each country.
An estimate of the total cost of IVF base
   Having found the cost of basic IVF must realize that this is not the total cost you will pay for a successful pregnancy through IVF.

  IVF success rates depend on a number of factors, including:
* Age;
* Number of embryos transferred, and
* Cause of infertility.
The HFEA (Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority) gives an average success rate of 2.005 for each age group:
* 29.6% for women under 35 years;
* 23.6% of women aged 35 to 37 years;
* 18.2% of women aged 38-39 years;
* 10.0% of women aged 40 to 42 years;
* 3.2% for women aged 43-44 years;
* 0.8% for women over 44 years.
Using these figures, we can calculate the average total cost of IVF for each age group in each country.
   The possibility of an IVF pregnancy increases if more embryos are replaced. Most embryos are replaced over the chances of a multiple birth, each embryo has the opportunity to develop to term. Since multiple births is the greatest threat to health in IVF HFEA in the UK have imposed restrictions on the number of embryos that can be transferred in IVF to a maximum of two for women under 40 and up to three for women 40 and older who use their own eggs (if you use eggs given the maximum is two). In India, however, these restrictions do not apply to six or seven embryos can be replaced at any cycle, thus increasing the chances of pregnancy, but also increased risks. To date, I have no details on the legal limits in all countries.
The cause of infertility is very specific to you. This is not an area I am referring.
Executive Summary
    An estimate of the total cost of IVF in each country is now able to make an informed decision on the country to focus on their IVF treatment depending on your budget.
   India is clearly the cheapest in the price of IVF country. India also has the advantage of a lot of experience - we were second in the world to have a successful pregnancy with IVF, only months after the United Kingdom in 1978. In India, many doctors have been trained and practiced in the West and is fluent in English.
    However, if you are from Europe and want to stay close to home, Hungary (a beautiful country, and very clean. I had personal contact with one of the clinics there and their communication was excellent) and Latvia (I have never been so I can not comment) I appear less expensive options.
   Note that the decision of where IVF treatment should not be made solely on the price, but the reputation of the individual clinic is very important .................. .
