Hormonal imbalance is the main cause of female infertility. The inability of women to hormone levels and regulate ovulation causes excessive or too less of a particular hormone. This hormonal imbalance is manifested by symptoms that are easily detected to begin treatment as soon as possible. These symptoms include irregular menstrual cycles, excessive bleeding or very little bleeding, abdominal and pelvic cramping, absence of menstruation during periods and excessive weight gain and loss.
The following factors can cause hormonal imbalances:
· Glandular problems such as the thyroid, pituitary and hypothalamus gland problemsThese glands are the primary glands that are responsible for the creation and production of reproductive hormones. They can be affected by birth control pills intake, stress and diseases like hypothyroidism. Once the problems found in any of these glands prevent a full ovulation process imbalance to occur, therefore, difficult to conceive.· Ovulatory disorder that overproduction of "prolactin"
As glandular problems, overproduction of "prolactin" leads to disruption of hormone levels. Prolactin is a hormone which suppresses the production of milk and interfere with ovulation. The incomplete ovulation cycle called anovulation causes the production of excessive androgens. These androgens are known as "male hormones" overproduction of these, especially testosterone, leading to lower estrogen production that brands and marks the ovulation process.
· Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) This condition is characterized by a multiple growth of cysts in the ovaries, which leads to a hormonal imbalance and menstrual flows back. Less production of estrogen and progesterone necessary for the results of ovulation in the quality of eggs and lower the failure of egg maturation. These failed to mature the eggs develop into cysts and outer and inner line of the ovary.
Furthermore, PCOS attracts producing high insulin leads to type II diabetes and a state of increased production of androgens.
· Premature menopause and abnormal cervical mucus Menopausal women often starts at the age of 40, if before; it is a sure sign of infertility. Ovulatory process is well in quarantine, POF or accounts of premature ovarian failure for only about 1% of female infertility. Besides slowing down and stopping the process of ovulation, menopause brings a series of changes in the female body. Menopause is often marked by extreme mood swings, drowsiness, irregular menstruation and hot flashes.
Abnormal cervical mucus is a condition in which the lining of the uterus and cervix is not quite as it should be; change in the consistency of the mucus in the ovulation process is designed primarily to assist in the passage of sperm and fertilization of the egg.
The alteration of the consistency of the mucus, with which you usually thin and watery, becomes a barrier for sperm to reach the egg for conception. With low estrogen production, mucus becomes thick semen or swim pass through. Specific reproductive glands are responsible for the secretion of the appropriate line of the cervical mucus, and repeated infections and the presence of sexually transmitted diseases are the most common culprits of the abnormal production of cervical mucus.
The above are related to the endocrine system and reproductive diseases which cause significant disruption of normal hormone levels and ovulation process. The presence of these irregularities is about 25% of cases of female infertility. Approximately 80% of these cases are caused by biological inherent irregularities and 20% of these cases of hormonal imbalance due to psychological and emotional stress.
As defined, stress is an event in the course of our existence that offers direct threat and pressure to our well-being. With stress often come changes in sleep patterns, diet and mood swings. Women who experience extreme psychological and emotional stress tend to flow back and forth in depression, which in turn causes a fluctuating hormone levels.
