New Health Alert For IVF Babies

In recent years there have been a number of studies in vitro fertilization that research in this new field of medicine increases.
A survey published in Western Australia in 2002 indicated that the risk of birth defects in IVF babies has increased twofold.
Another study two years later showed an increase of 29 percent in major birth defects in infants of IVF. Then, in 2007, further investigation revealed that increase of 30 percent. Now in 2009, we published another report, and a new warning from the IVF Babies issued by the British government.
Research conducted by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention of diseases, involving more than 18,500 births shown IVF babies were twice as likely to have heart defects and four times more likely to be sensitive to device problems digestif. The risk of intestinal disorders and cleft lip also increased by 3.7 times and 4 times, respectively.
The report was published online in February 2009 and was the catalyst in the case of health alert in the UK to be issued. Other findings were that IVF babies are more likely to suffer from defects in heart valves and there is a small but increased risk of rare genetic disorders, including Angelman syndrome, which leads to delays in development and syndrome Beckwith-Wiedemann, a common symptom whose difficulties and a hole in the learning abdomen.
Whatever the reasons for this may be, it's just that couples seeking IVF treatment and information should be aware of these findings. If children are born with physical or mental disabilities are parents wanting to suffer and the children themselves.
IVF specialist Richard Kennedy of the British Fertility Society, commented on the results saying. "We have known for some time that there is a slightly increased risk of abnormalities in all IVF, ICSI is not just that the patients must be informed about it and that's a good thing that the HFEA places update its guidelines.
"What we must remember is that the overall risk of an abnormality occurring increases with IVF, but it is still a small risk. However, patients still need to be aware of."
According to figures from the Society, about 3.5 percent of IVF babies suffer from some type of birth defect, compared with 2.5 percent of the general population.
A spokesman for the campaign group Comment on Reproductive Ethics, said: "IVF should never be the first port of call for anyone trying to conceive and need more money to go to research to help to restore the fertility of natural conception.
"IVF is often used when couples are" sub-fertile ", which means they need more time to develop, or single women who want to conceive with donor sperm. Patients should consider the risks. "
Why that IVF babies will increase the risk of birth defects such? One theory is that when it comes to fertility, nature promotes healthy couples to give children the best chance in life. Couples who are not up to the health demands of nature, depending on his ability to convey the health of their children, are less likely to be able to conceive.
Egg or sperm poor quality defects tend to cause the health of offspring unable to survive long in the hostile environment that pre-civilization prevailed for ninety-nine percent of the existence of mankind. So the nature prevents them from being born first.
But despite modern civilization has hindered nature by creating an environment in which children who otherwise would not survive even survive with the help of modern medicine and technology, but also created an environment that healthy couples should not have difficulty conceiving often do much difficulty.
This is a stress environment and worry of deadlines and phone calls to make, clients or patrons meet and bills to pay. If this is an accurate description of your lifestyle and you are trying to conceive a baby, then you probably do not really need IVF treatment. What is needed is much simpler and less expensive.
