Overcome Female Infertility - What is an Infertility Blood Test?


  
As mentioned in previous articles, infertility is defined as the inability of a couple to conceive after 12 months of unprotected sexual intercourse or can not carry the pregnancy to term. It affects more than 5 million couples in the United States alone, and many more times in the world. Due to a lack of knowledge of treatment, only 10% seeks help from professional specialist. In this article, we will discuss what female infertility blood test?

   I. Definition   Routine blood test is not necessary for women suffering from infertility, sometimes called blood test to check for anemia, blood type and antibodies. Infertility test is defined as a blood test to check levels of estradiol, LH, FSH and progesterone.


  II. ProcedureBlood is drawn from a vein in the arm in the clinical laboratory.


  III. Diagnosis1. Estradiol   Estradiol has a critical impact on reproductive and sexual functioning. It supports the vaginal wall, cervical lymph nodes, the endometrium and the lining of the fallopian tubes. If levels remain low in the first 10 days of the menstrual cycle, which can interfere with the production of ovarian eggs leading to poor egg quality and infertility.


   2. The luteinizing hormone (LH)  With the increase of estrogen, LH receptors are also expressed in the follicle maturation leading to increase the amount of estradiol and stimulate ovulation after progesterone production. Abnormal levels of LH natural ovulation may interfere, causing infertility.3. follicle stimulating hormone (FSH)  FSH stimulates the growth and recruitment of immature ovarian follicles in the ovary at an early stage of the menstrual cycle. FSH imbalance may interfere with the growth of immature follicles and ovulation.


   4. Progesterone.   Progesterone increases with much after ovulation. It helps the thick and impermeable to sperm cervical mucus, prepare the uterine lining for implantation of fertilized eggs, increasing acceptance of the immune system during pregnancy reduces muscle uterine contractility and inhibits lactation during pregnancy.
