Female Infertility - General and Ovarian Causes

Infertility describes biological inability of a person to contribute to conception. Infertility can also describe the inability of a woman to carry a pregnancy to term. Reproductive endocrinologists, physicians specializing in fertility, you should consult a doctor if a couple has not conceived after 12 months and the woman is under 34 years, or if the couple has not conceived after six months and the woman is over 35. For women over 35 years, the quality of the egg begins to decrease, requiring care more quickly.

Female infertility may be due to several causes. Some of them are related to the overall health of women. Others are directly related to the reproductive system. This is the reason that the first step to take is to have a medical check for the cause of their fertility problems.General Health Influences on infertility

Liver or kidney disease or thrombophilia (a problem with blood clotting mechanism) can cause infertility and problems carrying the fetus to term. In addition, the problems of the hypothalamus and the pituitary can not produce enough of luteinizing hormone (LH) or follicle stimulating hormone (FSH). These hormones are absolutely necessary to support ovulation and the menstrual cycle. Many times, doctors can give estrogen and progestin to compensate for this, thus bypassing the problem.Infertility caused in the reproductive system

The reproductive system has sub-functions, any of which may cause infertility. The ovary produces eggs fertilized. The fallopian tubes (tubes) carry eggs to the uterus (womb). The uterus nourishes and protects the fertilized egg so that if can become a child. The neck is the passage between the uterus and vagina. The causes of infertility due to ovarian disorders

Ovaries perform the first function in the reproductive cycle. Create eggs and send them to the oviduct that bring the uterus. The following is an ovarian disorders list that may be interesting to watch.

Polycystic ovary syndrome, also called PCOS, is a (hormonal) endocrine disorder. This is the most common cause of infertility, occurs in approximately ten percent of all women. The main symptoms are irregular and / or ovulation menstruation, weight problems, and too many male hormones. Irregular ovulation means that often, no eggs to be impregnated. Menstrual problems cause an actual pregnancy lasts. Although the causes of PCOS, obesity, diabetes and insulin resistance often accompany PCOS is not known. Many doctors lack this, so one should seek a doctor who has experience with this. For women who are overweight, losing weight can improve the condition

Anovulation is the absence of ovulation (egg production) in a woman should be able to ovulate normally. This can be caused by several factors, such as hormonal imbalances, medications and recreational drugs, inadequate nutrition, permanent physical illness, mental illness underway, such as depression, prolonged physical effort, stress and pituitary or ovarian dysfunction. Although anovutaion is a common cause of infertility, usually treatable by reversing the causes except pituitary and ovarian failure.

Poor ovarian reserve sometimes there are not enough eggs in the ovaries. Eggs also get used to over the years. Other causes of low ovarian reserve are radiation therapy and chemotherapy, adrenal gland problems, problems with the autoimmune system, and genetics. There are also cases where the reasons can not be determined.

This is independent of the quality of eggs, which tends to decrease with age. Nature prepares humanity to start playing at an early age. When women have children at all times, the quality of eggs is "frozen" and still high quality, even at a later age. However, if there is no play in the early years, egg quality tends to decrease.

POF, abbreviated POF, is the loss of ovarian function before forty. Premature ovarian failure is categorized by low levels of the hormone estrogen and high levels of production of hormones (FSH). These hormone levels indicate that the ovaries do not respond to FSH in the blood. Therefore, the ovaries do not produce estrogen. Without estrogen, fertile eggs can not develop.

Although the causes are not fully understood, it is believed that radiation therapy, chemotherapy, autoimmune disorders, genetic disorders such as fragile X syndrome and contribute to premature ovarian Turner syndrome.

Forty years is a somewhat arbitrary number chosen for practical reasons. Age should be set up to distinguish POF normal menopause. In fact, it can be teen on. However, for forty years, one percent of women with POF, which includes symptoms of menopause. The average age of menopause is about fifty-one, they usually 45-55.

At present, about 5-10 percent of women with POF you become pregnant without treatment. Currently, the most effective strategy to deal with the POF is to use donor eggs to have children. Another strategy is to adopt children.

Luteul Phase deficiency (LPD)

Luteul phase deficiencies can be caused by abnormal follicle development or abnormal luteinization. In both situations, the corpus luteum in the ovary follicle does not produce enough progesterone. Typically, the corpus luteum of the ovary produces luteinizing hormone (LH). LH causes the body to produce progesterone; a hormone that causes a thickening of the blood vessels in the uterine lining. These blood vessels form a nutritional safety net, where the fertilized egg can develop into a baby. A lack of progesterone causes the network of blood vessels to weaken and fall out of the uterus, abortion. This is similar to what happens in a normal monthly period, in the absence of pregnancy.

LPD is found in 3-20% of patients are sterile and 5-60% of patients with recurrent pregnancy loss. However, the data show that 10.6% of women who are fertile also inadequate luteal phase.Ovarian CancerOvarian cancer also prevents the ovaries from functioning properly.

Executive Summary  Infertility can be caused by health problems like liver or kidney disease; thrombophilia; and deficiencies in the hypothalamus and pituitary gland. The reproducing system comprises five organs such as ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, cervix and vagina. We describe six cases of ovarian disorders, most can be treated successfully. To prevent infertility, women may consider having children at a younger age. Fertility begins to decline at twenty-six. About 35 years of age, fertility begins to fall faster. If this is a concern consult a doctor immediately.
