The total number of women of reproductive age (15-44 years) who have infertility is about 7.3 million. Percentage of women of childbearing age is about 12%. So a little more than 1 in 10 women with infertility. It's not a large percentage, but certainly not rare.
What are the causes of infertility?
Overall, about one third of cases are due to male factor. About a third are due to a female factor and the remaining third are a combination of two or inexplicable.

20-25% are infertile because of production problems and release of eggs. They are called ovarian disorders.
20-25% suffer from a pelvic factor, such as uterine problems, endometriosis, fibroids, blocked tubes, pelvic adhesions, or PID (pelvic inflammatory disease).
About 10-15% of cases of unexplained infertility go. No reason can be found.

85-95% of infertility cases can be treated with regularly, such as drugs or surgical care.
