When a woman is fertile, but her man is not able to get her pregnant due to some defects in his semen, then it could be called infertile. Male infertility is due to a variety of reasons.

Pre-testicular factors responsible for male infertility are hampering the development of the testes in poor health, the hygonadism hormonal disorders, unhealthy life style, drugs, snuff, alcohol, too much strenuous exercise, drugs, steroids and genetic defects that contribute to male infertility.

Azoospermia is the absence of sperm cells; teratospermia is sperm defects and asthenozoospermia refers to the reduced mobility of sperm. A man may have a combination of these conditions contributing to infertility.

Blood tests reveal levels of testosterone and FSH conditions such as cystic fibrosis

Doctors choose treatment based on their condition. Medical treatment can take care of pre-testicular problems. Testicular problems can not respond to medical treatment and then the way out is to go to assisted reproductive techniques to achieve parenthood. If the seminal duct or similar problems impeding the flow of sperm, surgery can solve. Therefore, if the male is sterile, do not lose hope.
