Artificial Sperm? Could This Be The End Of Male Infertility?
Couples struggling with infertility can spend thousands of dollars looking for a scientific answer, which often increases the tension of the situation, making even more difficult to achieve successful pregnancy.
Some of my friends have spent about a year and a half trying to conceive through IVF. The process took their economies and restrictions on your diet and daily life imposed as carefully should the "fertile days" each month. The roller coaster ride your hormonal system to endure become an important factor to exit the process. They put a lot of effort into your relationship. It was even difficult for friends and family, like me, who always wanted to be supportive, but was afraid to see the body language between them.
Infertility can be related to both sexes. In 60% of cases of female infertility is related, but 40% of the time is caused by male complications. It was also determined that 25% of these couples, couples have fertility problems.
But now Japanese scientists believe they have made a breakthrough in the way we treat infertility in men. For the first time, sperm grown from scratch in a laboratory. It took about ten weeks to grow stem cells in mouse sperm.
Then the artificial semen is implanted in the testes of a sterile male mouse, which was then extracted and then used to fertilize mouse eggs in a laboratory dish. Then a mouse outbreak mother was artificially inseminated with two sets of embryos, which apparently produces healthy mice. These mice were made to replicate in normal conditions.
This breakthrough in stem cell research could be all kinds of positive impact on the advancement of regenerative medicine. Stem cells are the body's master code, which are the source of all cells and tissues. They thrive in all types of cells and multiply. Scientists studying the hope that it will be crucial in treating diseases like cancer.
The most encouraging part is that this new discovery by Japanese scientists, can be investigated immediately to determine if it can shed light on, or even to correct the problems of male infertility. Especially in cases where people can not produce sperm at all.
Artificial sperm is used to solve human infertility? This is a possibility that it is still years, even decades before being applied to humans. And, it is safe to start a new round of controversy about the ethical and legal dilemmas ....
