Glutathione And Male Infertility

Researchers in their studies have shown that sperm counts have dropped by half and semen volume decreased by 20% in most modern men.

In the book of Theo Colborn "Our Stolen Future", it is written that, reproductive disorders is caused by persistent organic pollutants (POPs) and endocrine disrupting chemicals in plastics used every day.Studies have shown that common chemicals like alcohol and pesticides in food, causing damage to sperm, because children suffer from reduced intelligence and behavioral disorders.

Lifestyle habits such as smoking, alcohol consumption, chronic stress and nutritional deficiencies are the risk factors for decreased sperm quality known. Health conditions like prostatitis and diabetes also affect sperm production. In addition to these factors, pollution is a major factor responsible for the increase in the rate of male infertility. Persistent environmental toxins have many adverse effects on male fertility.

If a person smokes, drinks or exposed to stress, chemicals, radiation, pesticides or take drugs that affect fertility, you should consider taking an antioxidant supplement to repair some of the damage they cause.

In several studies, it has been found that antioxidants such as glutathione are beneficial in the treatment of male infertility and improving sperm count, sperm morphology and motility. Glutathione, in particular, can help increase the chances that the chances of conceiving.

Peroxides glutathione enzymes play an important role in the defense against oxidative damage in human sperm.

Glutathione important for sperm quality and fertility:Infertile men were found at significantly higher levels of ROS and lower levels of total antioxidants. Thus, 40% of men suffering from male unexplained infertility have a higher activity of free radicals in the levels of the organization.

In addition, it is believed that the low level of glutathione in the sperm production to cause a disturbance in the integrity of the sperm membrane, if the increased oxidative stress.

Lifespan of sperm motility and ability to penetrate the oocyst, or egg, due to reduce oxidative stress. Thus, lower levels of antioxidants such as glutathione are correlated with reduced sperm movement.Studies suggest that treatment for infertile men should include strategies to reduce oxidative stress and improve sperm quality.

The role of glutathione in the treatment of infertility:Glutathione is essential not only to sperm antioxidant defenses, but also for selenium and the formation of "phospholipids hydro peroxides glutathione peroxide" - a protein in spermatids enzyme - which develops in a structural protein of the room sperm environment mature. Deficiencies of these substances lead to instability of the intermediate part of spermatozoa, resulting in defective motility.

Glutathione, a hunter and destructive free radicals, is used to restore the structure and function of polyunsaturated acids (PUFA) of fat in the cell membrane and can be used to treat cases of male infertility.Studies have shown that glutathione has a statistically significant positive effect on sperm and sperm morphology.

The conclusion of these studies indicate that glutathione therapy may represent a potential therapeutic tool in cases where exposure to toxins or ROS is the likely cause of infertility.
